OUR MASSAGE

BODY MASSAGE
In a full-body massage, a therapist will massage the entire body during a therapeutic massage. Sessions typically last a minimum of 50 minutes which allows enough time to work over all the major areas of the body like the back, shoulders, legs, feet, arms, hands, and neck.

Generally, the session starts with the client disrobing completely with draping or wearing only undergarments and lying face down on a padded table under a sheet. The therapist will begin with the back and shoulders before moving down the body. Once the client has flipped over about mid-way through the session time, the therapist works back up the body, usually ending with neck and shoulders and sometimes the scalp. Men may also receive a pectoral massage.

If there is a problem area that needs extra attention, such as a sore back or tight shoulders, request that the therapist spend more time focused on those trouble spots but the trade-off may be less time spent on other areas of the body. To ensure the full treatment of every body part, as well as a focus on specific issues, make an appointment for a longer session time.
HOT STONE MASSAGE
In addition to deep relaxation of the body’s muscles and soft tissues, hot stone massage performed by a certified therapist can alleviate pain, improve circulation, and is believed to rid the body of toxins. This modality can also reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. Enthusiasts of hot stone massage also claim to experience a feeling of enlightenment, inner peace, and renewed spirituality after a session.

Although specific hot stone massage research is lacking, studies suggest that massage in general provides health benefits to people with prenatal depression, hypertension, autoimmune disorders, pain syndromes like arthritis and fibromyalgia as well as age-related illnesses like Parkinson’s and dementia.

Stress Relief

The deep relaxation of massage is an effective method for stress relief and has been proven to reduce anxiety and cardiovascular health.

Pain Relief and Increased Joint Flexibility

Muscle strain and joint pain are occurrences from both average daily activity and a variety of health conditions like arthritis and autoimmune disorders. Several current studies on fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis link moderate massage techniques with pain reduction and improved range of motion. The heat from the hot stones coupled with massage techniques help to relax those muscles making joint movement easier and more comfortable.

Decreased Muscle Spasms and Tension

From muscle cramps due to dehydration and overuse to the spasms associated with Multiple Sclerosis, studies have shown that massage therapy provides relief by reducing inflammation and tension.

Improved Sleep

Regular massage sessions have been found to decrease depression and anxiety levels and improve sleep quality, perhaps because they trigger the release of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that can help you feel calm. The technique has been found to benefit children and adolescents, as well.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
Swedish massage is one of the most popular forms of massage therapy. It can help you relax, give you more energy, and may help after an injury.

Swedish massage involves long, kneading strokes combined with rhythmic tapping strokes and movement of the joints.

This type of massage targets the uppermost layer of muscles and aims to relieve muscle tension.

Before the massage begins, your therapist will talk to you about your health and lifestyle. They will ask you to lie on a specially-designed massage table and will cover you with towels to protect your privacy and to keep you warm. They will probably use creams or oils to help them to massage your skin smoothly.

The four most common strokes used in Swedish massage are:
Effleurage: smooth, gliding strokes to relax soft tissue
Petrissage: squeezing, rolling, or kneading
Friction: deep, circular movements to increase blood flow and break down scar tissue
Tapotement: tapping with cupped hands, fingers, or the edge of the hand
AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE
What is Aromatherapy massage? Aromatherapy massage is the type of Swedish massage that uses essential oils (highly concentrated plant oils). Its main focus is relaxation and mindfulness. During an aromatherapy massage, you both inhale these essential oil molecules and absorb them through your skin.
DEEP TISSUE
Deep tissue massage therapy isn't just a Swedish massage with deeper strokes or harder pressure. Deep tissue massages use firm pressure and slow stroked to massage deep layers of muscle and fascia, which is the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles.
